Senior Programs

To enroll in the following programs, please call 773-358-3200 or stop by the Red Shield Center at 945 West 69th St and sign-up.

Please note that many other activities that are listed in the Sports and Fitness, Applied Arts, Music Schoool and Family and Community Services Sections are also available to seniors.


This intergenerational fellowship of women provides positive programs and activities on a weekly basis. Outings are planned that include birthday parties, holiday parties and programs on education, service and fellowship. To become a member, visitors must attend at least 4 weeks, fill out a membership application and pay dues of $2.00 per month. Membership in this group also includes membership in the Senior Club Focus Group (listed below).

Fee: $2/month


The Senior Club Focus Group is a fellowship of women whose goal is to stay active, serve other seniors through nursing home visitation and provide fellowship programs for seniors. To become a member, individuals must fill out a membership application and dues of $2.00 per month. Membership dues in this group also include a membership in Home League (listed above).

Ages: 55 and older

Date/Date: 2nd Wednesday of the month


Fee: $2/month


This program provides an opportunity for fellowship for seniors in a relaxed atmosphere to share with one another. Each week seniors share a potluck meal, work on arts and crafts projects and assist in volunteer projects around the facility. All activities are senior led.
